About Spartanburg, South Carolina

Spartanburg, located just a few miles south of the North Carolina border in Upstate South Carolina, is the county seat of Spartanburg County. It is the fourth largest city by population in South Carolina. The city was founded in 1831 and still bears a number of historical and natural features, including Hatcher Garden and Woodland Preserve, Walnut Grove Plantation and Hampton Heights Historical District.
