The case stems from a 2020 head-on collision in which a company manager, intoxicated after a work-sponsored golf tournament and bar outing, crashed into another vehicle while driving a company-issued pickup truck.
The driver had attended the golf event as part of his job, then continued drinking with coworkers at a bar that was also a customer of the alcohol distributor. Over the course of less than two hours, the group allegedly consumed more than 25 alcoholic beverages, paid for with a company credit card, before the crash occurred. The driver was arrested at the scene for DUI but refused alcohol testing.
