Teacher Appreciation Award 2019

Attorney Brent Stewart and Stewart Law Offices encourage parents and students to nominate their favorite teachers for the firm’s annual Teacher Appreciation Award.

Teacher Appreciation Week is just about to start, and Stewart Law Offices is ready to once again show appreciation for the outstanding teachers that make the Carolinas a great place for children to excel at academics.

The community-focused law firm is asking parents and students to share personal stories about their favorite teachers and what makes them stand out from the pack. The firm urges families to take this opportunity to recognize those teachers who bring their A-game to school every day. Based on the submissions, eight amazing educators will be chosen to receive a $500 award from the law firm for their enduring commitment to education.

The firm’s annual Teacher Appreciation Award is open to teachers in kindergarten through 12th grade in the following counties: York County, S.C.; Lancaster County, S.C.; Chester County, S.C.; Spartanburg County, S.C.; Richland County, S.C.; Lexington County, S.C.; Gaston County, N.C.; and Mecklenburg County, N.C.

Last year’s winners were:

  • Nicole Bishop, 1st Grade Teacher at Irmo Elementary School
  • Pamela Talley, Special Education Teacher at Lower Richland High School
  • Tia Harden, 3rd Grade Teacher at Indian Land Elementary
  • Meghan Clontz, 1st Grade Teacher at India Hook Elementary
  • Carley Vernadore, 3rd Grade Teacher at Mount Gallant Elementary
  • Jennifer Brown, Kindergarten Teacher at Woodruff Primary School
  • Jesse Biondi, Chorus/Orchestra Teacher at Rainbow Lake Middle School
  • Patricia Croghan, 2nd Grade Teacher at St. Matthew’s Catholic School

Attorney Brent Stewart was inspired to start the firm’s annual Teacher Appreciation Award program because his mother, Celia Stewart, was a respected teacher herself. “I know firsthand how important and impactful teachers are,” Brent shares. “That’s why we wanted to show our gratitude for the hard work these educators do each and every day in our community.”

The law firm is asking students and parents to celebrate this year’s Teacher Appreciation Week by submitting a nomination for their favorite teacher. Parents and students can nominate their favorite teachers online. Nominations will be accepted through midnight on Friday, May 10. The winning teachers will be announced the following Friday, May 17.

Additional rules and information can be found on the nomination page linked above.

The Stewart Law Offices looks forward to celebrating all the educators who make the Carolinas a great place to raise a family.
